Mess Management Committee (MMC)
NLU Tripura’sMess Management Committee is a student-run body which oversees management and operation of the campus dining facilities. The group consisting of elected student representatives works to provide students with wholesome and reasonably priced meals while promoting sustainable food practises and healthy eating habits.The Mess Committee supervise keeping an eye on the calibre of the food, the level of hygiene, and the students' overall dining experience. To make sure that the needs and preferences of students are addressed, our committee collaborate closely with the university administration, caterers, and other stakeholders. Additionally, we plan occasions and activities that encourage a sense of community and cross-cultural interaction among students from all backgrounds.The coreresponsibilities of the Mess Committee include developing menus, setting budgets, purchasing food supplies, hiring, and training culinary workers, and monitoring compliance with food safety laws. In addition, the committee worksto promote healthyeating habits among students by offering nutritious food options,organizing awareness campaigns, and providing informational materials on nutrition and wellbeing.Together with its regular responsibilities, the Mess Committee actively participates in campus sustainability programs. In the dining halls, we work to reduce food waste and encourage environmentally responsible habits. Composting, recycling, and minimising the use of single-use plastics are a few sustainability projects.Overall, our university's mess committee is dedicated to giving students a top-notch dining experience that caters to their needs and enhances their health and well-being. The committee puts in a lot of effort to make sure that the dining areas are spotless, secure, and welcoming to all students.
