The Centre for Criminal Justice & Human Rights (CCJHR) at National Law University, Tripura successfully organized a One-Credit Course titled “Understanding the BNSS, 2023: From Crime Reporting to Cognizance” from 27th to 29th November 2025. The course aimed to provide law students with a comprehensive understanding of the Bharatiya Nyaya Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, a landmark legislation that reshapes India’s criminal justice framework. By focusing on the journey from crime reporting to judicial cognizance, the program sought to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application. The sessions were conducted by Dr. Neeraj Tiwari, Associate Professor of Law at National Law University, Delhi, a distinguished academician known for his expertise in criminal law and procedural justice. His engaging teaching style and deep insights into the BNSS enriched the learning experience for participants.
