Visit of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Akil Kureshi, Former Chief Justice, High Court of Tripura

On 12th April 2025, National Law University Tripura had the honor of welcoming Hon’ble Mr. Justice Akil Kureshi, Former Chief Justice of the High Court of Tripura, as the Chief Guest for the inauguration of the 2nd Intra-University Moot Court Competition.

His Lordship delivered an inspiring inaugural address, drawing from his extensive judicial experience to highlight the significance of advocacy, legal reasoning, and ethical practice in shaping a responsible legal professional. Addressing the students of NLU Tripura, he emphasized the profound connection between legal education and its role in building a just and equitable society.

Justice Kureshi encouraged students to look beyond textbooks and engage deeply with the social realities that law seeks to regulate and transform. He underscored the duty of every aspiring legal professional to not only uphold the rule of law but also to remain sensitive to the struggles of the marginalized and the challenges facing democratic governance.

His gracious presence, thoughtful words, and insightful reflections made the event a memorable and intellectually enriching experience for all present.
