CELEBRATION OF NATIONAL INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY FESTIVAL 2024

The Centre for Intellectual Property Studies (CIPS) at National Law University (NLU) Tripura successfully hosted the National Intellectual Property Festival on November 13, 2024 under the effective flagship of Prof. (Dr.) Yogesh Pratap Singh, Vice–Chancellor, NLU Tripura. This pioneering event, held online, focused on the theme of “Lab to Market: Leveraging IP and aimed to drive innovation by facilitating the transformation of ideas into market-ready products with co-ordination of  Dr. Bandita Sengupta, Centre-Director, CIPS, NLU  Tripura . The event was led by Dr. Nitin Tewari and Dr. Niranjan Yeole whose expertise in intellectual property management and commercialization provided invaluable guidance throughout the session. The festival was further distinguished by the involvement of notable organizations, including the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research and the National Research Development Corporation (NRDC). Their support underscored the significance of the festival in promoting IP as a tool for economic growth and technological advancement. This one-hour session presented a comprehensive overview of the key aspects of intellectual property and its role in fostering innovation and commercialization. These lectures emphasized strategies for leveraging IP in research and technology transfer, offering insights on moving ideas from the conceptual stage to viable, marketable products. The festival attracted a diverse audience of students, researchers, and professionals with an interest in IP, innovation, and technology transfer.
