NLU Tripura Launched “PROJECT SAMVIDHAN GRAM” at Narsingarh Panchayat
On September 28th, 2026, the National Law University, Tripura and its Pro Bono Club launched its another flagship initiative “Project Samvidhan Gram” at the Narsingarh Panchayat Office to take constitutional education beyond the classroom and make citizens aware of their fundamental rights, duties, and access to legal aid. On this occasion Prof. (Dr.) Yogesh Pratap Singh, Vice-Chancellor, NLUT emphasized the importance of constitutional literacy at grassroot level. He encouraged active participation and stressed the need for students to maintain communication with community members so that they can be approached whenever legal or constitutional assistance is required. Dr. Jayanta Dhar, Registrar I/C highlighted the role of the Pro Bono Club in encouraging villagers to remain connected with the concerned members and authorities.
Gram Pradhan, Narsingarh Village Mr. Biplup Dev emphasized the importance interaction also focused on creating awareness about citizens’ rights and duties. Student members of the Pro Bono Club discussed various Fundamental Rights and explained how these rights can be understood and implemented in the daily lives of villagers. The session aimed to bridge the gap between constitutional provisions and their practical application in the community. The Project Samvidhan Gram is launched with the commitment to encourage citizens to understand not only their rights but also their responsibilities as members of a constitutional democracy. “A Constitutionally Literate Village is a community that knows its rights, understands its duties, and knows where to seek justice.” The university also distributed booklets in local language containing fundamental rights.
