Single credit course, “Forensic Evidence and the Indian Criminal Justice System”
The National Law University Tripura, in association with the National Forensic Sciences University, Agartala Campus, successfully organized a single credit course on “Forensic Evidence and the Indian Criminal Justice System,” for the students of B.A.LL.B., 5th Semester under the Ministry of Home Affairs, aimed at imparting interdisciplinary knowledge that connects forensic science with legal studies. Held between August 4th and August 19th, 2025, the course covered pivotal modules, including Introduction to Forensic Science and Criminal Law, Collection, Preservation, and Analysis of Forensic Evidence, Role and Admissibility of Forensic Evidence in Indian Courts and Criminal Trials, along with Emerging Trends and Challenges in Forensic Science. Esteemed faculty such as Dr. H.K. Pratihari (Director NFSU), Dr. Jyoti Roy Choudhuri, Assistant Professor and other professionals from NFSU Agartala Campus led the sessions, ensuring academic quality and contemporary relevance. As part of this academic endeavour, the students also visited the Tripura State Forensic Science Laboratory on 26th August 2025. This initiative provided participants with unique insights into both the scientific and legal dimensions of justice, setting a benchmark for collaborative academic efforts at NFSU Agartala.
