Special Lecture on The Role of IPR in fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The lecture on the Role of IPR in fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurship has been scheduled for the BALLB students of National Law University Tripura on the date of 25th Feb 2026. Dr. Jayanta Ghosh, Assistant Professor of Law from WBNUJS, Kolkata addressed students with existence of Intellectual property (IP) as an essential compound for the economic growth of a nation. He laid down justifications of IP by quoting as “idea to product”, “idea to market” and “idea to profit” in the jurisprudential understandings of personality theory, consumerism theory and utilitarianism theory respectively. He has highlighted the nature, types of intellectual property and its journey from intangible, tangible to commercialization of property by citing several examples and case laws by demysfying connection between ideas, innovation and creativity in the IP ecosystem. His lecture was ornamented with several areas like IP innovation, IP start-ups, IP Valuation system, IP as brand building etc. The Session has been very interactive, engaging and highly informative and impactful for all attendees.
