Kautilya Society

Kautilya Societies, conceptualized by Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy and hosted by universities across India, are student-led initiatives designed to promote public policy as a career path. These societies enable students to conduct research on gaps in law, policy, and governance, producing reports and parliamentary submissions. By hosting discussions and events on recent legal and policy developments, they contribute actively to public policy discourse and socio-economic progress.

Students in Kautilya Societies interact with public policy professionals, gaining practical experience and building valuable networks. They assist in drafting laws and policies, enhancing their understanding of governance, regulation, and legislative processes. This hands-on approach equips them with skills to explore diverse career opportunities in fields like advocacy, consultancy, development, financial analysis, economics, and research.

The initiative also aims to nurture students’ interest in public service, fostering responsible citizenship and encouraging them to consider meaningful careers in policy and governance.
