About Raja Lohar
Raja Lohar is a doctoral researcher at the Department of Political Science, Tripura University (A Central University). His doctoral research is titled ‘The Capacity-Building dimensions of
India’s Indo-Pacific Policy in the Bay of Bengal.’ His research interests are in the areas of India’s maritime security strategy, regionalism, strategic and security studies, and the dynamics
of foreign policy in the Indo-Pacific. He holds an M.Phil. and M.A. in Political Science from the University of North Bengal and graduated from Siliguri College.
His research has been published in SCOPUS-indexed, UGC CARE-listed journals and edited volumes. His scholarly writings explore a wide range of themes, including maritime diplomacy,
identity politics, gender-responsive foreign policy, and subaltern political thought.
He has presented papers at national and international academic forums, including conferences organised by the Indian Association for Asian and Pacific Studies (IAAPS), and has
participated in policy dialogues such as the USIPS–NED Assam Dialogue, organised by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) in collaboration with the U.S. Consulate General,
Kolkata. Mr. Raja is a life member of the Indian Political Science Association (IPSA) and an active member of both IAAPS and the Indo-Pacific Studies Centre (IPSC).
