National Law University, Tripura hosted a week-long workshop for first and second-year B.A. L.L.B. students, focusing on the art of moot court. The workshop featured prominent advocates Rishabh Dheer and Kartik Pant as resource persons. The event began with a felicitation ceremony led by Dr. Ripon Bhattacharjee, faculty advisor of the Moot Court Society. Advocate Rishabh Dheer, a practising advocate in Delhi with expertise in civil and commercial litigation, and Advocate Kartik Pant, a partner at Prakant Law Offices specializing in commercial and financial laws, provided in-depth insights into the importance of moot court in developing analytical thinking and critical reasoning. They highlighted the significance of thorough legal research, interpreting statutes and judgments, and the drafting of well-structured oral arguments. Through practical examples, they guided students on how to analyse moot problems by identifying key legal issues, relevant facts, and appropriate laws. The discussions emphasized clarity, objectivity, and precision in argumentation, encouraging participants to approach their research with an open mind and a focus on critical inquiry. By the end of the workshop, students had gained valuable insights into courtroom procedures, legal reasoning, and the skills necessary to excel in moot court competitions, with a strong emphasis on diligence, creativity, and sound legal practice.
