Special Lecture delivered by Retd. Justice S G Chattopadhyay
On 17th February, 2026 Justice Satya Gopal Chattopadhyay, Retd. Judge of the High Court of Tripura and currently serving as a member of the GST Appellate Tribunal, has been kind enough to deliver an enriching lecture on the topic, “Fundamental Rights and their expansion by the Judicial Interpretation in India” to the second semester students of the LL.M. program, in the National Law University, Tripura. Justice Chattopadhyaya, during his delivery, deciphered how the Indian judiciary, couched with constitutional visions of great Indian lawyers, pioneered in stabilising constitutionalism, crafting the basic structure doctrine for the Indian citizen, narrating numerous classics as well as recent Indian judicial precedents. Prof. (Dr.) Yogesh Pratap Singh, Vice-Chancellor, National Law University Tripura, has himself inaugurated the special lecture introducing the decorated judicial career of Justice Chattopadhyaya and his zealous academic pursuits even after retirement
